The Dobermann...
"How empty my life would have been if I had never owned one"
I share my life with a Doberman, A protector and a friend. Intelligent and daring, Devoted to the end. So sleek and quick, On constant watch, A dog that earns your praise. Yet with a heart of purest gold, And gentle, loving ways. So noble and reliable, A winner from the start. ...When I saw a Doberman, I quickly lost my heart.

Merlin and Tasha DeRouge-sang
We are based in France amongst the rolling rural hills of the Mayenne counryside at the top of the Loire Valley. Our home is a small Farm set in a hectre of land which we share with our two cats Henry and Jasper, Ozzy and Paris our miniture pinschers, and our Dobermanns - Merlin,Tasha,Greta,Ivy,Raven,Siren and Tia our rescue Dobe.
I have owned the breed since 1984, When I bought my first dog a black and tan male whom I called "Merlin" ( "Sire" UK Ch Borains The night watchman) in the May of 1984 when he was 9 week's old, my son was 6 week's old and over the years they became firm friends, one never being very far from the other, even sharing beds and bones, and that's when I got hooked on Dobe's.
My Kennel name "Bilclarie" was borne out of a mix of my children's names and has only been in use since 2007 when I bred my most recent litter out of which I kept two babies.
"Raven" and "Ivy"
We do not breed on a commercial basis here at Bilclarie, when we breed a litter it's because we want to keep a puppy that way we can insure we have a healthy puppy.

My Dogs
My dogs live here, they're here to stay. don't like my dogs, be on your way. They share my home, my food, my space This is their home, this is their place.
You will find dog hair on the floor, They will alert you're at the door. They may request a little pat, A simple 'no' will settle that.
It gripes me when I hear you say 'just how is it you live this way? They smell, they shed, they're in the way.' WHO ASKED YOU? Is all I say.
They love me more than anyone, My voice is like the rising sun, They merely have to hear me say 'C'mon , let's go it's time to play'
Then stump's wag and faces grin, They bounce and hop and make a din. They never say 'no time for you', They're always there, to GO and DO.
And if I'm sad, they're by my side And if I'm mad, they circle wide And if I laugh, they laugh with me They understand, they always see.
So once again, I say to you Come visit me, but know this too.
My dogs live here, they're here to stay, Don't like my dogs, be on your way. They share my home, my food, my space This is their home, this is their place.

A STUMP FOR A TAIL
You can't buy loyalty, they say I bought it though, the other day; You can't buy friendship, tried and true, Well just the same, I bought that too. I made my bid, and on the spot Bought love and faith and a whole job lot Of happiness, so all in all The purchase price was pretty small. I bought a single trusting heart, That gave devotion from the start. If you think these things are not for sale, Buy a brown-eyed puppy with a stump for a tail.
